One Week Home!

Sadie’s been home one week already! And it has been an awesome week! Honestly, every moment has been great.

Even the lack of sleep hasn’t been too bad. I sleep from 10pm to 4am, and Nate sleeps from 4am to 10am. Of course, I’m sure this will change next week when he goes back to work full-time- so we’ll have to wait and see how that works itself out… But as far as her sleeping goes, she does great as long as she is in our arms. She does not sleep well lying by herself. This is a habit that will probably be tougher for us to break than for her. She’s also been feeding really well. She takes two bottles of pumped milk during Nate’s night shift, and the rest of the day she’s attached to me every two hours.

And what has really made this week smooth sailing is Sadie’s Sitty, who has been here every day to help with everything. From shopping to cooking to, of course, playing with Sadie, and even to the things I’d never think of – like cleaning air conditioning filters, she has made it a very easy week.
And to top off the week, we decided that today was time for Sadie's first real outing. Her Sitty and I took her on a walk around the neighborhood. Sadie and I took that walk many times in the past few weeks; only she was kicking away in my belly then instead of sleeping contentedly in her stroller. It was much nicer being able to look at her as we walked!

We also put her in her first “real” outfit today in honor of this outing. Up to now, we’ve had her only in sleepers and swaddles; but today she got to wear her pink and yellow preemie outfit Tara bought her as a coming home present. She looked teeny tiny, but very cute, in her spring gear.
