Multiple Uses...

This toy has been with Sadie through many new stages...

Learning to sit with Mommy's support...

Learning to sit on her own...

Learning to stand with support...

Learning to try to climb...

Learning to lean...

Learning to stand without support...

Learning how a mirror works...

Uh oh!! Learning to climb for real!

This look on her face is so teenager!

Sharing!

After noticing that Sadie loves to take toys from other babies, but then wails when they take something from her, I've started working at home with her on her sharing skills. To teach her what the word "share" means, I take a toy and hand it to her, then I have her hand it back to me, then I give it back to her, then she gives it back to me, and so on. Sadie has mastered this game, but I realized at a play group yesterday that there is a big problem with it. Sadie doesn't understand that after she gives the toy to someone, she won't get it right back. I seem to have failed in teaching her that part! She did a great job handing her toys to other babies yesterday, but then when they'd start playing with it, she'd have a little meltdown. So it seems I have some more work to do! Anyway, today I captured on camera a perfect example of her strengths and weaknesses when it comes to sharing...

Sadie happily offers her cracker to Brody.

She then takes it back...

Sadie offers her cracker to Mommy...

Then she offers her cracker to Sophie...

Then she takes it back...

Yummy!

Then she offers it to Sophie again...

Only this time Sophie cannot resist... So she eats it right from Sadie's hand!!

And Sadie is heartbroken!!!

So I give her another cracker. And this time she decides to share her maraca instead. She's not gonna risk losing her cracker again!!

Tooth!

After 9 months and 4 days, I'd started think that Sadie wasn't ever going to get any teeth. But today, her first tooth finally appeared!
