Thumbsucker?

So although while I was pregnant, I said I hoped Sadie wouldn’t suck her thumb like I did as a kid, I’ve been praying lately for her to find something, anything, that she could use to soothe herself. Nate and I have bought every different type of pacifier we could find, at least twenty, and for each and every one of them, Sadie has looked at like us like, “Eww! Are you kidding me?!” So she’s been sucking on her hand for awhile now and trying to figure out something that works. She’s tried each finger individually, every combination of fingers, each knuckle, and even recently, her palm! (Clearly, it’s time for Mommy to clip those nails!)

But up until now, her thumb just hasn’t been cutting it because it was so tiny. But today may have been a breakthrough. That thumb made it in a lot! Let’s hope this sticks!

And here are some pictures I tried to take today of Sadie, but she was so into the polka dots on her shoes, and she kept watching herself cross and uncross her feet, that I couldn’t even get a real shot of her in her ladybug dress!

But that ladybug dress did remind me of another ladybug dress Sadie wore just a few months ago. How crazy!

And here’s some final pictures of Sadie helping Daddy do the laundry! She’s clearly entered the drooling stage!
